Paolo Chiasera

Paolo Chiasera (*1978 in Bologna) is fascinated by historical icons, myths and cultural symbolism. He isolates excerpts from cinema, literature and philosophy, which he then uses as pawns within a new story that makes use of the visitor's 'collective memory'. For Chiasera, history is a starting point for creating a process of deconstruction and afterward the construction of a shape and he is interested in the possibility of investigating the aesthetic practice of these different modalities, of reaching a shape as a canvas or a sculpture.
