Universum
Universum by Jens Schubert was published on the occasion of the Marion Ermer Preises 2011.
Schubert's unique linocuts bring together motifs from a wide variety of sources. In countless acts of printing, he layers the image elements on top of each other: geometric shapes and patterns, cloud pictures, masks, organic forms, a maze, the crown of the Statue of Liberty – much can be detected, but much also evades deciphering. It is about representation, the combination and accumulation of images – and always about picture knowledge and association. With a text by Katrin von Maltzahn.
A booklet with forewords by Lothar Späth and Christian Sery, and an introductory text by Axel Lapp accompanies this publication.
A box-set with all for publications is available seperately.
