Vom Paradies der Damen
Vom Paradies der Damen is a series of photographs, especially developed for the medium of a publication. The images were taken in a 500-square-meter space, the former fashion store owned by Beate Mohr's family. After the store was closed, the space has been completely dismantled, except for the carpeting and three mirrored pillars, which fill the space at regular intervals. The L-shaped room is in a state between different usages. This brief moment of its functionlessness becomes the reason for the photo series.
Through the full-format photographs, the viewer is drawn into the space of the book, and moves around it as in a choreography. At first glance, the images appear as a montage of many different photographs, while a closer look reveals, however, the complex juxtaposition of real space and mirrored space views.
